Santa Clarita Motel, 24971 Railroad Ave., Newhall. Clean, comfortable, roomy, tub, good wifi. Good cappuccino nearby at Honu.

•Hotel Walser, Strada Margherita 8/A, Courmayeur. Sept. 29. Nice hotel; modern, convenient, parking, good lobby. Recommended.

Piemonte
•Affiticamere al Cantoun, Chiomonte. Sept. 27. Very nice; good restaurant; small picturesque town. Recommended.
•Airbnb Lucia Callagarin, Via Lucia della Robbia, 12c, Torino. Sept. 23-26. Very nice spacious 3-room flat, kitchen, laundry, bathroom with tub, away from center but good bus, metro connections. Highly recommended.
•Hotel Caccia Reale, Via Garibaldi 1,Casella Torinese. Sept. 30. Clean, quiet, spacious, quaint. OK.
•B&B Il Baciass, Via S. Pietro V. L., 112, 10064 San Pietro Pinerolo. Oct. 1-3. Country BnB, good breakfast, big comfortable room, bathroom with tub, pleasant sitting room. Parking. Need car for restaurants, shopping. Good walking. Recommended.
•BnB I Mandorli, Cardona di Alfiano Nata. Oct. 11-12. A favorite country spot, tranquil and beautiful, remote, but good restaurants within 15-minute drive. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.

Liguria
•Lolli Palace Hotel, Corso Imperatrice 70, Sanremo. Oct. 4. Quiet, clean, convenient, up-to-date. Recommended.
•Agriturismo I Castellari, Via Castellari 54, Pietra Ligure. Oct. 5. Rather remote in hills, country, spiffy. Not on public transportation. Kitchens; no restaurant. Recommended.
•Hotel Bel Soggiorno, Via 20 Settembre 19, Genoa; +39 010 542880; belsoggiornohotel.com. Oct. 7-8. Small comfortable room, tiny shower in room. OK.
•Affitacamere Lunamar, Via Paleocapa 2, La Spezia. Oct. 9-10. Spare Spacious room, good location. OK.

Emiglia Romagna

•Airbnb Mirta, via Federico Osnan 26, Rome. Oct. 14-17. Spare, spacious, shower, kitchen. Remote from center, good bus, tram connections. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Recommended.
